1.  Acceptance to Terms: By joining our course you confirm to have read, agree and comply with these T&C set out below at all times.

 

2.  Suitability: In order to attend this course, you must be medically, emotionally, and morally fit. It is your responsibility to disclose any medical condition or moral factor that you consider it may affect your ability to attend this course, and no liability will be accepted by the course instructor or any third party whatsoever.

 

3.  Payment of Attendance: (A) All classes must be paid for in advance by the due date of the class, whether you choose to attend or not. Any class not attended for any reason given by the student is not refundable, except for medical emergencies where documentary evidence must be provided. It shall be at the discretion of the instructor whether or not to refund. (B) An £800 upfront non-refundable retainer is required before the start of each year of the course. All payments must be made via bank transfer. Quarterly and Monthly payments will be set up as direct debits, ensuring timely transactions and accurate record-keeping for all. (C) Before beginning the course, students must register with the Acupuncture Society as practitioner students (free of charge) for licensing and obtain individual practitioner insurance. This ensures protection and compliance. Register at www.acupuncturesociety.org.uk/student-affiliate-membership-application, then follow their guidance to get insurance from Balens (approx £25/year) or Holistic (approx £41/year).

 

4.  Course Discontinuation Initiated by Us: (A) Course discontinuation initiated by us refers to the permanent cessation of a course due to our unforeseen circumstances or necessary reasons, including reduced enrolment, financial constraints, or other compelling factors. (B) If we discontinue the course, you may receive a resolution in the form of a pro-rated refund for the ongoing academic year if it remains incomplete. This refund will be payable after the deduction of the administrative expenses. The decision of the course instructor is final and binding.

 

5.  Course Interruption Initiated by Us: (A) Course Interruption Initiated by Us refers to our temporary suspension of a course due to unforeseen circumstances, low enrolment, or curriculum changes. (B) We strive to resume the course as soon as practicable. If resumed within a reasonable time, no refunds or compensations will be issued. In the unlikely event the suspension continues far longer than anticipated by the instructor, the instructor may offer a resolution at his own discretion. Should the course resume, any outstanding payments must be made forthwith.

 

6.  Course Discontinuation or Interruption Due to External Factors: Course Discontinuation or Interruption Due to External Factors, refers to the discontinuation or temporary suspension of a course initiated by events beyond our control, such as government intervention, natural disasters, or emergencies. No resolutions are granted, as interruptions aren't within our discretion.

 

7.  Amendments to Discontinuation or Interruption Policy: We reserve the right to amend the criteria for all course discontinuation or interruption and related resolutions at our discretion.

 

8.  Students Withdrawal Policy: As a small business, we carefully manage our enrolments to sustain our programs. Generally, we maintain a no-refund withdrawal policy, with exceptions for documented medical emergencies or unforeseen personal circumstances, provided to us in writing, subject to stringent evaluation and at our discretion. Refunds only apply in relation to future classes paid for but not attended.

 

9.  Independent Practice: After attending our classes, if you choose to undertake any treatment outside the classroom, it is entirely your responsibility. You assume full responsibility for any such treatment, and no liability can be attached to the instructor or any third party whatsoever.

 

10.  Intellectual Property and Course Materials: (A) All course materials are Amatsu School of Japanese Integrated Medicine's intellectual property and are subject to copyright; they shall not be reproduced or distributed. (B) Students must obtain written consent before recording media and are strictly prohibited from public sharing or commercial purposes, in perpetuity.

 

11.  Liabilities:  (A) By participating in our classes, you accept to be used as models for teaching and treatments with other students. (B) Our classes may include elements of traditional Japanese martial arts (Budo), which, although unlikely, may lead to discomforts, injuries, or other health issues. By enrolling, you accept these risks and release all parties from any liability.

The reasons for processing: Your personal details are required to register you as a student and to recieve payments via bank transfer from you. This Amatsu  Japanese Integrated Medicine Course Privacy Policy applies specifically to the course being conducted and aims to inform you also about the filming that will take place during the event. The purpose of the filming is to capture valuable live content to be utilized for extending the benefits of this course in order to empower a wider audience in the future and those could not attend. We are planning to use some recordings for the purpose of sharing knowledge by promoting our activities, including online advertising and marketing, and online courses for educational purposes. 
UK GDPR Lawful bases: Legitimate Interest is the basis upon which we will process your personal details. We will also use your contact details to run a basic standard form of communication with you, via phone, texts or email, simply to respond to enquiries, providing reminders and such activities. Filming may be conducted with all participants included. As we are a small organization without access to professional equipment and expertise, once the footage is recorded, we will not be able to remove your presence in the shots. However, if you do not wish to be included in the footage, you have the right to request us to not include you in the filming before recording begins, and we will arrange our program around your positioning in the room to avoid your presence in the shots. Please inform us if you want to not be included before the start of our classes. We are committed to respecting your privacy and will handle all personal information in accordance with applicable data protection laws. 
Storing your personal information: Your collected personal information will be securely stored digitally. Your details are considered strictly personal, they are not subject to automated decision-making (including profiling), and are not intended to be shared with any other organization or to be used for any marketing activity or public relations purposes. These details need to be archived for medico-legal reasons and are required to be kept for an undetermined amount of time, but they will be retained only for as long as is necessary: the minimum retention time is 8 years for adults from the last treatment, and for minors until they reach 25 years of age.
